Minion smash cake session

I had the pleasure of doing a new smash cake session for this little guy. When his mother contacted me, she told me that she wanted to make it a minion themed photo shoot. I thought it was a great idea so I went out and picked up some additional material to help complete the set. I already had the backdrops but wanted to pick up some additional props including the minion pom pom decorations you see on the floor below.

The client wanted a minion themed smash cake so we got her in contact with Allie Erwin Shipps over at Overboard Cakes. For the second set I knew our birthday boy was going to be wearing overalls that would fit the minion theme so I made some buttons and used some denim material to simulate the overall buttons.

The client wanted at least a couple of outfits for the shoot which I told her we could easily accommodate after all that gives us more opportunities for more pictures. We both thought that dressing him up in overalls and a yellow shirt would be a great touch to this minion themed shoot. It seemed like a good outfit to get messy in as well so we made this outfit his smash cake set. As you can see our birthday boy had no problem chowing down on his delicious cake.

I wanted to try something new with this smash cake session which was to give our little client a bubble bath to get him all squeaky clean. He really enjoyed himself. To top it off we found some minion bubble bath that happened to smell like Bananas which was a perfect ending to this shoot.

I enjoyed doing the bubble bath so much that I've now expanded my offerings for smash cake sessions to have an optional bubble bath. It of course adds more photos to the over all photo shoot. I couldn't believe how many photos I got out of this session and I'm looking forward to the next one.
